Hey Grace,
This post went up two days ago and earlier on the county site, and there has been no hue and cry. People are not as against you here as you may think. Many of us are with you in your goals for language education opportunities. Many of us, like me, could not ever be as active in public life as you have been and admire you for it. We just wish you would take the concerns of others seriously and try to work WITH that opposition to come up with solutions that work for the community and still reach your goals. Many of us, like me, are upset and puzzled at the apparent lack of that. It doesn't mean we are against MI or you personally.

You indicated in a quote in the PADN that you would be willing to locate a charter elsewhere in the county if that meant a better school site. Many posters have wondered if you have a specific place in mind -- they are all looking for common ground, not arguments or personal attacks on you.

(Note: This is a spring break in PA and PACE members may not be answering because of vacations this week.)

Anyone else find it odd how the way is smoothed for Mah so often and so thoroughly.

Max,
If you don't like it, there is something you can do about it as posted above. If you aren't willing to do something about it, you have no cause to complain -- then I think for the good of the school district, people have to figure out how to work together.

I have been very critical of Grace Mah's actions myself, but she is putting herself out there and trying to accomplish something. Few people appreciate what that takes until they do it themselves. I absolutely do not agree with the way she has gone about accomplishing what she wants. But she is doing; trying to engage her to figure out the best way for the kids in the district is better than just taking pot shots.

"A faction's newspapers say rebellion, and that they will not remain united with us unless we will permit them to govern the majority. If this be their purpose, their anti-republican spirit, it ought to be met at once. But a government like ours should be slow in believing this, should put forth its whole might when necessary to suppress it, and promptly return to the paths of reconciliation. The extent of our country secures it, I hope, from the vindictive passions of the petty incorporations of Greece."
