Sounds like Google is moving to south Palo Alto instead. That solves the problem of car traffic jams caused by the few roads over Hwy 101 to the Mountain View campus. If Google wants to build a new bike bridge over Hwy 101, the city council will jump at the offer.

No matter how 'green' the proposed new building might be, it will still be built on top of the toxic plume underlying much of the NASA AMES site. NASA AMES been a Superfund site for decades now. The basement(s) of occupied Google buildings on the other side of the creek were found to be potentially hazardous not so long ago, due to the accumulated toxic vapor from the plume under NASA AMES. Maybe Google had second thoughts about employee health?
