Living at the Opportunity Center has been a blessing. And starting on the Downtown Street Team also was. However, as a former "street person", I still have needs but have a very limited income. So, this collection comes in handy for me and others.

I am really surprised that no one has complained yet about the tree being an offensive religious symbol. The majority ofnPalo Altans are not Christians, or even Jews, anymore.

Not a Christian - perhaps the tree is perfectly appropriate then, given your comments. "Christmas" trees, despite that moniker, are arguably NOT Christian. Many non-Christians have them - atheists, agnostics, Pagans, those w/no religious afiliation.

In Hong Kong Christmas is celebrated as a "Commercial Holiday". At least they are honest about it's true nature.

It's got nothing to do with any religion, and hasn't for decades.
