Republicans make GOP Tent smaller

Original post made by Angus King, another community, on Nov 14, 2012

One would think with the shellacking and beatdown they took last week, losing the vote in all groups of color and losing the women's vote, the GOP would be interested in increasing the size of their 'tent'.

Nope.

Can't even bother with the low hanging fruit (it's a cliche, not an aspersion) of adding another old white guy to their senate caucus, in this case, an independent who expected to be approached by both parties.

"Sen.-elect Angus King, I-Maine, surprised no one Wednesday morning when he announced that he would caucus with the Senate Democrats, bringing the number in that caucus to 55 for the new Congress.

'I wanted to maintain my independence as long and as thoroughly as possible,' King said. He added that 'it simply wouldn't be practical' to not join either caucus." Web Link

AS Roll Call said, it's not a shocker.

What is shocking? The GOP didn't even bother to try to get King.

"Angus King also said Mitch McConnell never called him."

King isn't crazy enough for the republicans. No sense trying to get a sane person to join the GOP caucus.

Democrats know have a senate lead , 55 - 45.
