Original post made on Oct 12, 2012

Sorry, Rich. That's trying to have it both ways. What you voted for, unlike Senator Simitian, is high-speed rail in California. That makes you, along with all your Assembly and then Senate colleagues who voted for SB1029 accessories to the crime of wasting billions of the taxpayers' dollars on the most expensive boondoggle in the history or our state.

With all due respect, shame on you, Assemblyman Gordon. It's enough to make a fellow Democrat (such as myself) weep.

What is the current policy on immigrants running for public office. Do they have to become citizens, first (naturalized), or must they be born in this country?

My foreign-born father wanted to run for public office back in the late fifties, but was not allowed to, even though he had been naturalized decades before.

Very easy to look up requirements for office---if you are really interested.

May not ring true, but is true. My father was a German Jew, we were in an Italian community. Nuff said?
