Youth water polo , stanford program info
Schools & Kids, posted by parent, a resident of the South of Midtown neighborhood, on Feb 23, 2007 at 8:34 am

Is this program good for new water polo players (8th grade)? We are not looking for an extremely intense program, mainly want to learn the sport and have fun. The Stanford program was the only one I could find in the area. The staff said they have program for all levels. Thanks for any information.

I run a youth program at Los Altos High that truely caters to all skill levels. I also know that Johnny Bega runs a program at Menlo Atherton that is comparable to ours. If you would like more information feel free to email me at THELGND@UCLA.EDU

Take Care,

My son is in the Stanford water polo club. He's in Middle School. Yes it does cater to all levels. However it is a somewhat intense program. You can participate at the level with which you're comfortable and they do not pressure the players, although the level of training is good. What a great sport. One thing about water polo, it is difficult to participate at a more casual level because to play the game at all you have to be a strong swimmer and have a lot of stamina. Good luck.
