The Palo Alto Fire Department’s Office of Emergency Services still has room in its five-week Community Emergency Response Team training beginning Wednesday April 29 through Wednesday May 27. Two time slots are available: either 9:00 – Noon or 6:30 – 9:00 pm. A detailed 2009 calendar is at Web Link
Offered free of charge to Palo Alto and Stanford residents, the program known as Palo Alto Neighborhood Disaster Activities (PANDA) includes hands-on training in Triage, Disaster First Aid, Light Search and Rescue and Small Fire Suppression among others.
After taking this course, you will have important skills and protective equipment that enable you to respond safely to the community after a disaster when the professional 1st responders may be overwhelmed. Join us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the program by becoming “PANDA Prepared”.
To sign-up, please contact Paul Lufkin, PANDA Coordinator, at (650) 617-3197 or email Panda@cityofpaloalto.org. For more information please visit the PANDA web page at Web Link
PANDA training is based on the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) curriculum adopted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
