Obama After W at Int'l Conferences
Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by A Boomer, a resident of Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Apr 16, 2009 at 10:37 pm

I will state up front that most international conferences for heads of state accomplish nothing.

One of the last such meetings that Shrub attended included a quote from him along the lines of "Good bye from the world's biggest polluter!"

W was not taken seriously by any other heads of state for most of his second term in office.

Obama is a welcomd reieif to Shrub worldwide

Shrub. How clever. Do you suppose, oh little popgun, that Europe welcomes Obama because they no longer have to fear suffering by comparison? Or because they hope for an even bigger say so in US laws?

They're just grateful to deal with someone besides that caricature of a Dodge City badman who lacked the irony that would have made his act funny, the cowboy with a swagger in his stagger and a popgun at his side cuz he dropped his .44 in Iraq.
