Menlo cancels events
Sports, posted by Rick, a resident of the Old Palo Alto neighborhood, on Dec 15, 2006 at 7:50 pm

Menlo College postponed all of the events scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 15-17. No reason was given.

The men’s and women’s basketball teams were to host Simpson University on Friday night and Bethany College on Saturday night.

The Simpson doubleheader was rescheduled for Feb. 2. The Bethany doubleheader was rescheduled for Jan. 16.

The men’s wrestling match against visiting Northwestern College of Iowa was cancelled; although there is a possibility that match will be rescheduled.

The next scheduled event at Menlo is the women’s basketball Peninsula Hoops Classic on Dec. 20 and 30.

The Lady Oaks (6-1) host Willamette on the 29th and Lewis & Clark on the 30th.

In football news, Menlo picked up an unexpected victory when Southern Oregon was forced to forfeit its win over the Oaks on Sept. 9 due to the participation of an ineligible athlete and NAIA protocol.

Menlo officially finishes with a 5-5 overall mark.
