I thought the World would LOVE US again with a Pres. Obama!

Here is a comment by the EU President, Mr. Topalank, ( please note that we are on "the road to hell" per Mr.Topalank)

"Mr Topolanek said EU leaders had been disturbed at a summit in Brussels last week to hear calls from Tim Geithner, the US Treasury secretary, for more aggressive policies to fight the global downturn.

"The US Treasury secretary talks about permanent action and we, at our spring council, were quite alarmed at that . . . The US is repeating mistakes from the 1930s, such as wide-ranging stimuluses, protectionist tendencies and appeals, the Buy American campaign, and so on," he told a European parliament session in Strasbourg. "All these steps, their combination and their permanency, are the road to hell."

And here is a nice little summary so far of our incredibly great foreign policy programs, (minus the idiotic DVD set our esteemed President gave PM Brown and the silly "Overcharge" plastic box with a red button that Clinton gave Putin; both gifts worthy of heads of States!)

The "world" has always hated us. Either we are in a mode that dictators and socialists hate when we are fighting for freedom and economic opportunity everywhere, full of envy and hate for our freedom and wealth, or they hate us when we AREN'T on the side of liberty and are going down the tubes economically, because we are pulling the dependent rest of the world downn with us.

You must always remember, it is human nature to envy, even hate, those with more. Be they your neighbor or another country. I remember a questionnaire where ( in paraphrase) the MAJORITY of respondents preferred to make $50,000/year with a neighbor that makes $40,000/year, than to make $100,000/year with a neighbor that makes $150,000/year. I was shocked, but it made me understand this drive to destroy what we envy, even at a severe cost to ourselves, be they our neighbors, or other countries of us. I suppose this is the origin of the saying "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face".

I am starting to think that ENVY is the single biggest cause of all "human caused disasters". ( Little inside joke there for those of you paying attention to our Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano, who represented Anita Hill back in the day, which should have given me a clue about who she is)

I knew we could count on Perspective to deliver his daily anti-Obama diatribe. What a hatriot!!!!

Marvin have your read the article in the NY Post by Ralph Peters?

What do you disagree with?

I think it is factual and accurate most notably the China paragraph. Which I consider a dangerous concept with lasting damage to our economy. Here is the translated document where the Chinese government proposes a substitute for dollar. Web Link

Bobbie--yes--everything--the fact that some people consider the NY Post a newspaper is funny. Are you claiming that what Peters is stating are facts??? Nice fairy tale.

Marvin is correct--the NY Post is a tabloid rag that does not know the meaning of balanced coverage. Anyone reading and believing anything written by Ralph Peters, with his history, probably reads and believes Mother Goose tales.

My, my, aren't we the collegial bunch this morning?
For your information, Perspective, the United States earned the world's undying love when Jimmy gave away the Canal.
"...the NY Post is a tabloid rag that does not know the meaning of balanced coverage." As compared to the NY Times, or the Murky Turkey or the Bee? It is to laugh.

Walter--I guess you consider the NY Post a good paper because it echoes your right wing, reactionary view?
What about the North Korean Times--your paper of choice, given your years of service to that country beginning with the Korean War

I find it ironic that "Perspective" always only offers one -- the anti-Democracy, anti-Obama slant. His (hers?) posts are worthless when so one-sided.

"Here is the translated document where the Chinese government proposes a substitute for dollar"

Why do you and the NY Post think we should be taking our clues from the Chinese Communists?

uh Paul, where else do you think we're getting our bailout money? LOL! Screw the Chinese. Let's rob em.

Um, same place as the money for the Iraq war and the 2008 bailout, perhaps?

You guys are hilarious. Just keep closing your eyes! BTW, Bush is not in office any more! The Republicans lost all their power in 2006 in both Houses, which neutered anything Bush could have done; however, even if they had all stayed in power, they would have done almost as much economic damage as Congress did by continuing to ignore the whistle blowersa about the CRA, not fighting back with the truth during the flame-fannning election year, setting up bailouts like mad, and still losing ( deservedly so) the election to Obama. Too bad they have to learn to return to conservative principles by helping to destroy the country.

At this point, however, the Dems are in full and absolute control. What, 63 days and counting, and still most posts are not filled? And still awaiting any kind of firm plan while Obama still hasn't gotten the message that he won already, he can quit campaigning and testing the winds...And, still not living up to his inauguration promise ( of many, many broken promises) to "look at the numbers and adjust accordingly".

Yup Paul the same bailout as last year. The change is we voted for is just that now the bailouts are bigger. LOL! You crack me up. "Um same place as last year". Now that's change. LOL!

But, hey..why worry? ( Remember the Mad guy, Alfred E Neuman, saying "Who, me? Worry?"). The Senate is tackling the important issues, like getting to the bottom of how college football is ranked...

So glad we know our priorities in this country! ( Which one are we in?) I would hate for any of them to instead take the time to READ BILLS BEFORE THEY VOTE!

The Dow was up another 150+ points today--people like Resident/Perspective/Gary/Sharon must be very disappointed. Besides providing amusement for readers of this forum, their daily pouting is not taken seriously by anyone

Jimmy lad, If I served North Korea so well, why did they keep shooting at me? I have given up on newspapers because they gave up objectivity It is understandable you mistake my libertarian views for right wing, reactionary, because you cannot understand that some people format their own opinions rather than wait to be told what to think.

Another great post, Perspective--keep it up.

It's amusing to watch Marvin and Paul grope and fall as they lumber clumsily up intellectual trees to escape the rising tide of evidence that they elected a bumbling, empty suit, content free, gaffe-generating, teleprompter-dependent "community organizer" to the Presidency, along with his confederacy of tax-cheating, bailout binging, deficit swelling, earmark loving, ACORN supported dunces headed by Rahm "Never Waste a Good Crisis" Emanuel, Timmy-the-one-man-Treasury and Hillary "Reset Button" Clinton. The country is in the best of hands!

Poor Marvin is reduced to gibbering his one-bit "hatriot" message, while Paul beclowns himself afresh with each new post as he lurches to pin each new Obama idiocy on some unrelated and distant Republican trivium. The Barry-worshippers were more entertaining back when they tried to support Obama on his "merits" instead of on their blind faith and gushy adulation.

Perhaps the Palo Alto lefties can pool their assets towards the communal purchase of some sort of clue. Or not.

"Poor Marvin is reduced to gibbering his one-bit "hatriot" message,"

Well, Jarred, the facts speak for themselves--we have an almost daily outpouring of posts like those by Resident/Perspective/Gary/Sharon since day one of the Obama administration being in office--you can draw your own conclusions about that. My conclusion is that these people want Obama to fail regardless of what happens to the country--they have put their selfish interests above the good of the nation--they are the new hatriots.

Just for the heck of it, someone with nothing better to do might want to compare the Bushwhacking in his first 100 days with the Obamadamning.

Perspective----from your link about what the Senate is doing:

"Behind the push for the hearings is the subcommittee's top Republican, Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah. People there were furious that Utah was bypassed for the national championship despite going undefeated in the regular season. "

Here is another example of republican legislators in action:

One should read Jarred's post and then think about who he sounds like (a hint--another well known Obama critic from Downtown North). instead of providing actual content in his post, Jarred has chosen to submit a long list on insults and put downs for Obama and his administartion. Obviously Jarred is wasting his time on this forum--he should consider going into stand up comedy.

Once again, as I have said before, this is not a game, where I am rooting for one team or another. Whether a Repub or a DEm or a Lib or Conserv or a Tory or a Whig or a Socialist or a Fascist or a Communist or Muslim or a Christian or a Jew or a Jain any other political or religion affiliate is behind an idea, I will evaluate the idea or policy on its merits, on whether or not it is good for the future of America, not whose team it belongs to.

We have idiot Repubs just like idiot Dems ..frankly, about 1/2 of the Repubs under Bush, including Bush, were too far to the left for me on border, spending, etc, and I pointed these out as much as I do the idiocy coming out in a torrent, no longer a stream, from DC now.
