Palo Alto City Library Spring Author Series: Pearl Sofaer

Original post made by JESSICATHELIBRARIAN on Mar 17, 2009

The Palo Alto City Library Spring Author Series continues with local author, singer, and artist Pearl Sofaer. She will tell stories from her family memoir, Baghdad to Bombay: In the Kitchens of My Cousins, and sing the old Babylonian chants that fit into these stories. This is going to be an exciting afternoon of rich recollections, delicious recipes, and a glimpse into the fascinating heritage of a Jewish family originally from Iraq, then living in Bombay, and finally scattered across the globe while maintaining their close connections.

Check it out on Tuesday, March 24, at 3pm, at the Palo Alto Art Center, 1313 Newell Rd.
