Chinese Restaurant near Mac's Smoke Shop circa 1960's?

I was born and raised in the old Stanford Hospital in 1958 and I'm trying to remember the name of the Chinese Restaurant that, as I recall, was close to Mac's Smoke Shop in downtown Palo Alto. It had a huge Chinese Dragon (perhaps a chandlier?) that hung from the ceiling and you could sit upstairs and close to the dragon. My father used to take me there when I was a kid. Ring a bell for anyone? Thanks.

I grew up in Barron Park- now live near Yosemite.

I believe the Chinese restaurant you are remembering may be the Golden Dragon at 544 Emerson. I think it was owned by the Leung Family.

Yup, it was the Golden Dragon! I've been googling Charlie Leung and came up with this blog. Fun! My mother and I ate often here in the later '50's.

I just ate some chicken soup (out of a can!) for my current cold symptoms. Immediately, I flashed back to the little cup of broth than preceeded the "American/Chinese" entrees! Entrees such as liver and onions as well as, chow mein.

Charlie gave me pink rosebuds on my 13th birthday... my first gift of flowers. Of course, I'll never forget this!

Where's Charlie now? I retired to the Big Island of Hawaii after 40 years in the SFUSD.
