The elections may be over but the carnage in Iraq and Israel continues unabated. In the last eight days another 57 Palestinian women, men and children have been slaughtered - hundreds more wounded. It is shameful that our government is using our tax money to send weapons to Israel to slaughter innocent civilians. Metal shrapnel dug out of their bodies was stamped “Made in USA.” The administration, Congress and media are displaying blatant partiality. This does not bode well for peace and justice in the Middle East. In a grotesque show of force (using US supplied weaponry), Israeli tanks and armored vehicles descended into the town of Beit Hanoun, mangling up the asphalt streets and crushing cars. 24 tanks surrounded the local hospital alone. To create more fear, helicopter gunships and warplanes flew overhead. Palestinian males ages 16 to 45 were rounded up, reminiscent of Nazi Germany, and hundreds loaded onto trucks and driven away for interrogation—some later released, others detained indefinitely. By November 3, at least 20 Palestinians had been killed. One of the local residents described the siege, “The situation is very, very bad. The Israelis have destroyed Beit Hanoun—they have destroyed the infrastructure. They’ve cut the water pipes and the telephone lines. They put explosives at the doors of the houses—.” Edible food, water and medical supplies quickly ran out. Paramedics who responded came were themselves targeted and a number killed.

Thanks, Jagjit for enlightening us with your ubalanced, illuminating approach to the issues facing Israel and the Palestinians.
Is this your original writing or have you cut and pasted this from some website?
Too bad you fail to mention the unending rocket attacks on Israel from palestinian territories that have forced Israel to re-enter the Gaza area.
As you will no doubt not admit the Palestinian leaders and the other Arab countries want the Palestinian people to be hungry, poor and being shot at by Israel--how better to fuel the anti-Israel propoganda machine.

I will ignore Jag's "oversight" to mention that except for the last artillery misfire which killed 18 civilians, and for whch Israel apologized, the overwhelming majority of the other 39 killed in the recent days were Hamas and PA militants; in contrast to Jag, even Hamas and PA had no problem admitting it.

But I have a much simpler question for Jag. Given that Israel has left every square inch of the Gaza strip over a year ago, why does Hamas and PA keep firing thousands of Kassam missiles and mortars into Israel since then? Not to mention that they are never aimed at any military targets, but strictly on civilian centers. How would Jag suggest that the Israelis react to that "innocent" Arab shelling from the Gaza strip? Just curious.

Hey guys...lighten up on Jag. I don't want him to get discouraged and stop contributing to this forum. His rants are usually so "over-the-top" that they generate sympathy for the other side and, therefore, have the opposite affect than for which they were intended.

How true, Steve. I doubt if anyone really takes anything that Jag writes seriously.
he has been doing this for years (in print form pre-forum days), so I doubt anything can discourage or slow him down.
