Palo Alto "Sandbag Saturday" December 13, 2008

Original post made by Paul, The Greenhouse, on Dec 5, 2008

Palo Alto community members are needed to help make and deliver sandbags to their neighbors who can not do the work themselves.

On Saturday, December 13, 2008 volunteers are invited to again help their community and their neighbors at the 8th annual Sandbag Saturday.

Date: Saturday, December 13, 2008

Times: Choice of two shifts at Noon – 2PM or 2PM – 4PM

Place: Municipal Service Center (MSC), 3201 East Bayshore Road
(between Embarcedero and San Antonio)
Google Map link: Web Link

Want to volunteer? Call Barbara Cimino at (650) 617-3164 to sign up for a 2-hour shift.

Volunteers may perform one of two tasks: filling sandbags or assisting fellow residents who are unable to get sandbags to their homes. Please invite your friends and neighbors to participate and feel free to post or forward this invitation.

If you know a Palo Alto resident who cannot physically lift or make sandbags, please have them go to MSC after 11AM on Sandbag Saturday and request help from the volunteers.

The City’s big yellow sandbagging machine will be in operation so bring your gloves. We'll loan volunteers hardhats and safety goggles where required.

For more information or to sign up for Sandbag Day call (650) 617-3164.

Come help your community and your neighbors prepare for the next big winter storm.

Kind of a change from the council sandbagging rationality with their butterfly mentalities.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
