Stanford women hope third time is a charm in NCAA soccer

This is no time for superstition. Besides, says Stanford junior midfielder Ali Riley, having lost in the third round of the past two NCAA women's soccer tournaments just means, "It's all the more reason for us (to win this year)." Fifth-ranked Stanford (20-1-1) hosts Rutgers (13-6-2) on Friday night in the third round at 7 p.m., with the chance to advance into the quarterfinals for the first time since 2002.

This will be a very exciting game - the new freshman players have brought a lot of talent to an already-skilled team. Best of luck!
