Election Debates Online
Around Town, posted by Elliot Margolies, a resident of the Barron Park neighborhood, on Nov 1, 2006 at 8:45 am

If you are looking for some great information on election races including Santa Clara County District Attorney, SC County Measure A, State Props 85, 86, 87, State Assembly and more, you can view debates online.

These forums are indexed by the questions that were asked so click on whatever you like. They were televised and put online by the Community Media Center and produced by the League of Women Voters, the Media Center, and some by Foothill College Honors Sociology students.

The links can be found on the Media Center web site - on the general election page at:

There is a striking absence of election coverage of the Congressional Race in District 14 (Palo Alto). The only candidate's forum was held in Saratoga, there was no press coverage, the videotaping was of very poor quality with horrific sound. I am on the ballot as a Green Party candidate running on an Impeachment, Truth, Peace, Ecological Wisdom platform. I am running because Eshoo supports the bogus "war on terrorism" and seeks to expand the "National Security State" including creating a counter-terrorism Cyber-space czar. I believe the best hope for the country is to impeach the criminals who have highjacked the nation, trashed the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, launched illegal, immoral wars, and the incumbents who have gone along with them. Eshoo and Pelosi will not touch impeachment, although the majority of people in this country favor it. I favor a genuine investigation of 9-11, not a sham, whitewash, overseen by the author of the pre-emptive war doctrine (Philip Zelikow) who used the 9-11 Commission to sell Homeland Security. I believe the US should redirect its resources from killing and controlling people and planet, towards actually meeting human and environmental needs, healing relationships. The Green Party does not accept corporate donations, and believes in reining in corporate power. The press recognizes those that have big money behind them and does not recognize grassroots candidates who work to defend the public and planet. The greatest threat to the American government is an informed American people. The greatest hope for the country is an educated, informed people that holds its government accountable for its actions. The press has a duty to inform and educate the public about those candidates who are supposed to represent them in Congress; I think the press has failed that duty extremely in this district.

What is your evidence to support the assertion that " the majority of people in this country favor" impeachment?
