Iran Sets Preconditions for US Meeting

Original post made by Sharon, Midtown, on Oct 12, 2008

Barack Obama may intend to meet with Iran without preconditions (yes, he did say it, no matter how he tries to deny it now), but Iran isn't granting Obama the same courtesy: Iran's Vice President Sets Two Preconditions for Talks with US.Web Link

They're very simple conditions, really. Just remove all US forces from the Middle East, and abandon Israel to the wolves.

"TEHRAN (FNA)- Vice President for Media Affairs Mehdi Kalhor said on Saturday that Iran has set two preconditions for holding talks with the United States of America.

In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency, he said as long as U.S. forces have not left the Middle East region and continues its support for the Zionist regime, talks between Iran and U.S. is off the agenda.

It is the Americans who are in dire need of reestablishing ties with Iran, he underlined.

Iran is not obliged to reestablish ties with the U.S., he said. "If they take our advice, grounds for such talks would be well prepared," he said."

Obama said that meeting with Iran without preconditions is on the table. He's also said that those meetings would start, not at the top, but lower down, in the diplomatic corps.

Interesting, Sharon assumes that Obama will be elected president and that George Bush, current office occupant, isn't even worth remembering.

Iran desperately wants Obama to be president, as does the pornographer susie bright.

I feel we need some balance, McCain will balance a democratic house and ensure our defense again enemies foreign and domestic.

Hmm, looks like Iran is trying to embarrass Obama and help McCain. Guess they figure that hotheads are good for their agenda.

Left of Boom is a registered user.

I doubt the Vice President of Iran decides the preconditions for low level talks. Iran is a theocracy.

Iran (and to a lesser extent Saudi Arabia) will have political instability if oil gets to $60 per barrel and hovers near that price or lower for an extended period. Those sovereign wealth funds are going to be tapped to cover deficits. Lower oil prices would change the dynamics in the Middle East.

Unfortunately, we won't see $60 per barrel oil unless there is a global recession. So it's nothing to gloat over.

Poor, Jane. Once again trying to smear Obama using people she happens to dislike. Too bad you cannot criticize Obama on his accomplishments so you try the old red herrings--William Ayers, Susie Bright etc.
You are flailing around just McCain/Palin are.
McCain has been exposed as an adulterer, a liar and a collaborator with enemies of the US during times of war with no ethics or moral compass. Palin has also been exposed as a liar and a petty, vindictive hack politician who is actually a sock puppet for her husband (btw why does everyone believe that the young man they trotted out during the convention is the one that impregnated the teenage daughter?? There is a lot more going on in that family than meets the eye). Plus she has no problem inflaming crowds so that they want to go out and kill the other candidate!!!
What a pair.

surprising that noone has brought that self-proclaimed "f-ing redneck" up on charges of statutory rape. bristol palin is 17 so whoever got her pregnant should be charged with statutory rape.

Plus,
Why don't you check the age of consent in Alaska before making statements like this...(it's 16)

i was talking about the other child. the supposed "fifth" child that sarah palin had, though noone remembers her showing. and the kid's birth certificate has been blocked from public access. all her other kids have been accessed publicly.
