Mercury news reported EBay laying off 1000 employees ... the recession/depression is going to hit out area bad, there is no doubt about it. Are the other giants (CISCO, HP) in a layoff mode as well? If they are not - when do you anticipate the tech giants will get into this mode .. my guess is the next quarter.

In mid-September, HP announced a layoff of 7.5% of their worldwide workforce (almost 25,000 people).

I haven't heard anything about Cisco. They are doing better than many other tech companies.

There are rumors that Yahoo is going to announce a big layoff soon.

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 23 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away more than $4 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. When you make a donation, every dollar is automatically doubled, and 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
