Help our Public Schools, Teachers and Students
Schools & Kids, posted by jasher, a resident of the Crescent Park neighborhood, on Oct 1, 2008 at 8:36 pm

Hello Parents,

We wanted to spread the word about a non-profit that is directly supporting the Silicon Valley Public Schools, DonorsChoose.org

Some of our very own Silicon Valley moms created a post talking about DonorsChoose.org and how we, as a community can help under-served, Silicon Valley public schools . To read more, visit

Unfortunately in Silicon Valley (and in the entire state of California), all schools are not funded equally. Many teachers simply do not have the tools, funds and resources to teach their classes and educate ALL our children in the bay area. DonorsChoose gives teachers the ability to request funds for class projects. Donors get the ability to learn more about classroom projects and needs - and make a direct donation ($5 or more) to any project. Once the project is fully funded, Donorschoose.org will fulfill the request, and you (the donor) will receive a letter from the teacher and class acknowledging your contribution. It is a WIN/WIN for ALL of us... especially children in our area.

These Silicon Valley Moms have highlighted specific school needs and a link where donors can select (and make donations) to these classroom projects and requests: Web Link
