BART and High Speed Rail Projects - Vote No-

Original post made by Rick, Another Palo Alto neighborhood, on Aug 8, 2008

If a 16 mile BART extension will cost a minimum of $6,000,000,000 how much will a hundred or more miles of High Speed Rail cost where it goes thru high priced, high density residential and commercial property?

Put money into freight rail and relieve roads for passengers. You be right, Rick. In the spirit of the War Against Energy, perhaps all the research money should go toward Transfer Booths, assuming Larry Nivens' patent has expired.

The High Speed Rail project must be killed. The leaders of this project have spent over $50 million and 10 years thus far, and they have failed in almost all regards to put forward a reasonable, useful project. They just want to get their hands on the $10 billion and spend it.

It is a power grab, led by the cities of San Francisco and San Jose. Don't be deceived, just vote no.

What is wrong with our City council, not coming out against this boondoggle?

You do not like the word PUBLIC? Do you. You TOO good for that word.

Talk about millions wasted? Yea look in your own backyard First.

Lets just keep thousands of car on the roads EVERY DAY. Hope one of them runs your kid over. He should not have been in the street. Oh the side walk was so bad he had to be? TOO BAD

Would not want to think about anyone but yourself? One sick place.

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 23 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away more than $4 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. When you make a donation, every dollar is automatically doubled, and 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
