Peninsula College Fund Third Annual Awards Day Sat June 21st!
Schools & Kids, posted by Charles Schmuck / Peninsula Colleger Fund, a resident of East Palo Alto, on Jun 18, 2008 at 11:31 am

This Saturday at 11:30 the Peninsula College will award scholarships ot nine high school seniors bound for college this fall. The nine minority students recently graduated from East Palo Alto Academy, East Side College Prep, Menlo Atherton, Woodside, and Summit and received this honor due to their grades, financial need, service within their school and in their community and overall interest in achieving a higher education. Each will receive a $12,000 scholarship, a dedicated mentor and assistance in getting summer jobs in their area of study.

This years ceremony will feature talks by two of our college students as well as a keynote talk by Sharifa Wilson of College Track who is the former mayor of East Palo Alto.

The Saturday's event is open to all interested in honoring the accomplishments of these new nine students and learning more about the Peninsula College Fund. For more information, contact Charles Schmuck at 650 561-9534 or check out our website www.peninsulacollegefund.org
