The low approval "rating" of the president is as meaningless a number as the even lower approval rating of congress and the non-existant approval rating of Quizlings.

If it does not happen, we can attibute it in part to public opinion and leaders outside the White House inner circle taking a pre-emptive strike against the Shrub minions and telling them not to do it.
Contrast this with the compliance exhibited as we marched into Iraq, consider the unforseen consequences from Iraq and ask yourself if we understand this Iran air attack's strategic consequences. I doubt that we do, or even can.
There may be an objective having to do with ending Iran's nuclear shenninigans, strategies and tactics by this administration in dealing with that rightly should be questioned and thwarted when they are ill advised. A military initiative at this point in the administration and at this point in Iran's development efforts most definitely fits the category of ill-advised.

Consider the consequences of a nuclear-armed Iran. Israel has to be doing that. So do all of Iran's neighbors.
I think any state that is determined to have nuclear bombs will get them, including Iran. However, if there is a way to stop it in Iran, given the radical notions of that country's leadership, including apocalyptical visions, it is probably worth trying. All the diplomacy just buys time for Iran to develop the bomb and the missles. The essential question is the military feasibility of a targeted air strike. I don't know the answer to that question.
If there is a reaction to such a strike, outside of Iran, it will be for show...the same leaders publicly protesting will be toasting American generals in private parties.

If the US is a war with Iran, then why did the US spend hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of lives to strengthen Iran by invading Iraq in 2003?
Could it be ou a sense of guilt for overthrowing the democratically elected Mossadegh government in 1953?
Or was it just stupidity?
As for now, the US military is now far too weak to invade Iran. But, I'm sure the US could blow Iran instead of invade.

Why are we fixated on Iran when another state has already developed Nuclear Weapons and spread the technology and is actively supporting the Taliban and Al Qaeda? If the goal is to defeat Islamic Jihadists, wouldn't it make more sense to strike within Pakistan, where the known Al Qaeda and Taliban leadership are given sanctuary? So much of this seems like just a PR move to distract us from the real problem. Iran is a problem but it's nothing compared to Pakistan.

We can still hope for a Pakistani Attaturk. And we can still hope against experience for a return to diplomatic reciprocity from the foolish idealism of the last century that let too many monsters grow.

I heard Bush was going to attack Iran in May, what happened to that? If he attacks in August bang goes any chance that John McCain will get elected in November. Maybe, he doesn't care if John McCain gets elected? When the stock market plummets we'll all be a lot poorer.
However, I am somewhat suspicious of his recent visits to Israel and Israels Prime Minister's visits to the White House. What are they cooking up?

Iran is the only major country ruled by zealots completely dedicated to the Muslim fundamentalist movement. That's why they are the leading inspiration and number one sponsor of terrorism in the world. To ignore them would have been like ignoring Germany when fighting the Nazi movement. They call us The Great Satan and call for the world domination of Islam, and they are rapidly developing nuclear weapons to accomplish this. Take them at their word--they mean it. As Walter says, they have been at war with us for 28 years. (Actually it's from the 1950's when they stole our oil fields.)

Lucky the hatriot blogers do not live in Singapore
A California-based blogger who allegedly accused a judge of "prostituting herself" has been arrested and charged in Singapore, his lawyer and a court document said Monday.
Gopalan Nair, a former Singapore lawyer who is now a US citizen, was arrested in the city-state Saturday and charged Monday with insulting a public servant, his lawyer Chia Ti Lik told AFP.
Nair, 58, was later remanded in custody for one more week as the authorities said they needed to investigate further, Chia told reporters.
He is due back in court next Monday.
"We can confirm that Gopalan Nair, a US citizen, was arrested on May 31," a US embassy spokesman said, adding that "we are monitoring the case closely."
According to a court document, Nair is charged with insulting Justice Belinda Ang Saw Ean last Thursday by sending an email which said she "was throughout prostituting herself during the entire proceedings, by being nothing more than an employee of Mr Lee Kuan Yew and his son and carrying out their orders".
Nair's lawyer Chia said the comments essentially repeated those Nair made in a recent blog about a defamation case filed by Singapore's leaders against an opposition party and its members.
In the blog, Nair strongly criticised a three-day legal hearing last week at which Singapore founding father Lee Kuan Yew and his son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, testified.
In another post on his blog Saturday, Nair taunted authorities, saying he was in Singapore at a particular hotel, and also gave his phone number.
"I am now within your jurisdiction... What are you going to do about it?" Nair wrote.
Nair is charged with insulting a public servant, which on conviction carries a maximum fine of 5,000 dollars (3,660 US) or one year in prison.
