New No Parking Signs
Palo Alto Issues, posted by Gordon, a resident of the Downtown North neighborhood, on Aug 30, 2006 at 12:22 pm

It is an outrage that our city is wasting money putting up signs saying “No parking on the first and third Tuesdays”. The Signs are not easy to see and look horrible in front of my house. The city put the sign up right next to a curb that has been in dire need of repair for years. If this is their way to get additional revinue I think it is wrong. I have lived in the neighborhood since 1978 and have never had a problem with the street sweeper parking signs. I live on a corner so every week it is one block or the other. I know of many people who have received $35 tickets for parking in front of their own houses. One person was on vacation and did not return in time and another was trying to “Spare the Air” and ride a bike to work. I would prefer to sweep my street my self if the city cannot come up with a better solution

These signs have been fantastic compared to the previous temporary signs that are put up without any forewarning. And the streets appear to be cleaner since more cars are moved on these days.

This is also old news - the signs have been up on other DTN streets for ages.
