Charity bike events to precede pro bike race

Two local bicycle rides, being held before the Feb. 17 Amgen Tour of California, will benefit cancer support and the Palo Alto Recreation Foundation.

"Palo Alto Councilwoman Yoriko Kishimoto and Stanford University Provost John Etchemendy will also take part."

Do Kishimoto and Etchemendy get to ride for free??? If so, that is too bad--the PA Recreation Foundation could use the money, especially from people that can well afford it.
