Is it true that red wine will take club soda spots out of a white carpet?

If the carpet is burgundy or cabernet sauvignon colored, then yes!

I'm not sure if that is a legitimate question, or if Walter just has too much time on his hands, but I believe the answer is the other way around.

Walter,

No doubt some Palo Altan will try it, then they will sue you!

On a similar subject, can you please tell me what I can do so I won't get burned when I spill hot McDonalds coffee on myself?

A lapful of ice cubes helps.

Legitimate question? All those have been used up in the debates.

Drinking a glass of wine will help you forget about the spots.
