Original post made on Nov 9, 2007

Wynn Hausser conceded defeat today in the race for a seat on Palo Alto's school board.
After a neck-and-neck finish in Tuesday's election with incumbent Camille Townsend, Hausser was still short the necessary votes for third place as ballot counting continued.

Thanks Wynn

You tried hard and almost made it. We do appreciate all the effort you put in and you certainly ran a well organised race. Hope to see you around next time.

Thanks from me, too. I really appreciated your calm, professional demeanor and think you would have been great on the school board. You were SO close! I do hope you'll run again next time. We need you.

Wynn, I'm so glad I got to know you and your family a little bit through this process. Please thank your wife and children for loaning you to us for the past two+ months.

I hope you stay engaged in school matters as I fear the state is headed for another budget crisis that could ultimately impact our district. We will need a lot of smart people to address the board about priorities if budget cuts become necessary, and to represent those of us who appreciated your no-nonsense approach to the multitude of issues that come before the board.

Wynn - I enjoyed your comments at the forum I attended and I wish you had won, but please consider the next one.
Pneumonia can be a tricky one to recover from so take care and give yourself some time to recuperate.

Wynn, you are a very good candidate. You should definitely run again and you will probably win. The pneumonia was a tough break, but it will just be a bump in the road for you.

Wynn, I very much appreciated your comments here on Town Square and am sorry to learn that you were ill. I hope you run again. I think your views are very balanced and hope that you would bring a voice of reason to the school board. I voted for you. Please give it another try in 2 years.

In the meantime, take your vitamins and stay healthy!

I am very sorry to see these results. I'd really hoped for an upset at the last minute. [Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.]
Best to you.
