Hill's limousine legislation faces critical vote

The fate of a new state bill on limousine inspections after the tragic fire on San Mateo-Hayward Bridge will be decided on Friday, Aug. 30 in Sacramento.

So .. will Sen. Hill's Bill provide a mechanism so that this particular accident can never happen again? Probably not.

Other than this accident, how many other mechanical failures have been identified by Hill that his Bill will prevent from happening in the future.

Probably not many.

Perhaps it's a good idea to inspect these vehicles periodically, but why hasn't the Legislature been concerned before now?

And what about the obvious problem of having too many people in the vehicle? Will this Bill prevent that?

Hill seems to be more of an ambulance chaser here, than actually offering up some legislation that is really needed.

This is good news. The time the legislature has wasted on this useless stupidity is time they haven't spent trying to screw us.
