VIDEO: Artists, activists celebrate King's dream

On the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, thousands of people came out to Palo Alto's "Let Freedom Ring" celebration at City Hall to commemorate the historic event.

This was a beautiful and well-orchestrated tribute to a very great man. Thanks to all who put this celebration of MLK's life together. I

I had the great privilege to see MLK at Stanford University in 1965. I had no idea what a historical occasion that was.

I hope that we can focus on the civil rights of all people (including our kids in the district) and realize the dream fully.

I know that Dr. King would also be concerned about our unhoused brothers and sisters. In light of the recent criminalization of living in one's vehicle, I would like to include treating the unhoused in a more humane way as a civil right that we may want to focus on.
