Looking for that special preschool for your child? Wishing you had more support for these magical and challenging years of parenting? Come to the Parents Nursery School Open House to find out why families have been choosing Parents Nursery School since 1949.
Parents Nursery School is a parent participation co-op in Palo Alto. It offers a play-based curriculum in an ideal preschool setting. Children move freely between various indoor and outdoor play opportunities throughout the day. Parents and teachers help facilitate cooperative and imaginative play. The school's play yards are spacious and beckon active and creative play. Inside the classroom, children engage in fun projects and games. Experimenting with copious amounts of glitter, glue and paint lets children's budding artistic tendencies bloom! Outside, kids can dig, ride tricycles, swing, zip down the zip line, and get as dirty as they please! Kids enjoy feeding the school chickens, holding guinea pigs, and singing daily in circle times with their classroom teacher as well as weekly with the visiting music teacher.
Parents work in the classroom one morning each week and participate in evening parent meetings approximately once a month. In the process, they become friends and partners who can help each other during these fun and difficult years of parenting preschoolers.
For the 2013/2014 school year we still have spaces in our two 3/4s classes for children with birthdates between September 1, 2009 and March 1, 2011. These classes meet 3 mornings per week from 9:15 am to 12:15 pm. There is a waitlist for our 4/5s class; contact the registrar for additional information.
