Peninsula College Fund names 2013 honorees

Fifteen local high-school graduates will be honored June 18 by the Peninsula College Fund, a nonprofit aimed at helping low-income, first-generation college students achieve educational and career goals.

Congratulations to each honoree, and to all the good people around them who have helped them succeed. Carry on!

To the students:
... Know your gifts, and use them well; that will bring you joy and strength.
... Your dreams are your dreams for a reason; do not let anyone deter you from them.

I am part of that great program and have graduated from college because of their support.I am glad you guys posted this. Most of the time we get news about the bad things that go on in our community. Many outsiders and people that do not know our people criticize the city as if they knew the real eaatpaloaltans. We are generally the hard working people that do not take any chance in life as a mistake but as an opportunity to strive.
