I happen to have witnessed an accident this morning by two adult male cyclists outside one of the elementary schools just after drop off time. There was fault on both sides, coupled with a truck parked too close to a cross walk. One of the bikes was a low rider type which couldn't be seen over the top of the parked truck and the other cyclist entered the crosswalk and was unable to see or be seen by the low rider. If either of these had been a small child crossing or on a bike, the child could have been seriously hurt. As it was, the two cyclists were bumped and bruised and the bikes may have been damaged.

The message is, bicycles and their riders are not above anyone else when it comes to causing accidents and should be as cautious and courteous as all other road users.
