See great paintings at Pacific Art League - Mencher

Original post made by Victoria C., Stanford, on Jul 9, 2006

Some friends were in town Friday night, so we decided to visit the Pacific Art League. The members' show downstair is really quite good, but we ventured upstairs after hearing so many people say things like "have you seen the funny stuff upstairs", "you have to check out the interesting work upstairs", and "there's a great painter showing upstairs". Kenney Mencher's work is fun, intelligent, well-executed, and just plain great. He paints friends, family and students and puts them in situations and places that seem familiar - are these places from our everyday lives or movies or what? Anyhow, if you get the chance, you should go see his paintings. Victoria C.
