Well, a lot of engineers are not well-balanced individuals. that is why there are so many jokes about them. This seems not to be the case with women engineers, but men. I have known many with Asperger's Syndrome, Bipolar Disease, character disorders, and one with schizophrenia. Most make a lot of money, but have either no personal life or a very strange one.

There was a big article on this in the Wall St Journal two weekends ago, and another one two years ago about why so many engineering graduates of MIT have autistic children. So far the research showed that many engineers have some autistic characteristics, and when they marry another engineer, apparently, the chances of having an autistic child are squared, not doubled.

Anyone who would make a death threat is obviously unbalanced. Remember three years ago the Chinese engineer who was laid off by his Indian employer? It was at a new startup, and the employee lost it and went back two days later and blew his ex-employer's brains out. The Indian employer's son is now canvassing for gun control and was on CNN yesterday.
