I waited a long time to see this film because I was afraid that I wouldn't like the music and reviews said it was essentially a musical.

Well, "Once" played a long time, which means lots of people did like it, and a friend liked it, so I finally went to see the film. I should have trusted my instincts. I found the music loud, incomprehensible, and just plain awful.

I prefer ballads, where you can make out the words, and the music is soft. I find music which drowns out the words unendurable, which is why I can't listen to the music on Saturday Night Live either.

I hope I won't be attacked for my personal tastes by those who liked the music!
