Thoughts on the adult soccer league?

Original post made by Kids Coach, Midtown, on Jul 25, 2012

It turns out I'm going to be helping to coach my 7 year old son's soccer team. Apart from playing recreationally in the neighborhood as a kid, I don't have any real organized team playing experience. I know that probably doesn't matter too much coaching in AYSO at this age group and that I'll be fine helping out with drills and practices for the kids.

I don't have any suggestions for the adult soccer league, but you may want to recruit a couple older kid soccer players for a few practices (or more) to help you set up and run some drills. I think the HS kids can get community service hours for helping not to mention that the little guys will think its cool!

You should try the Palo Alto Adult Soccer League ( "B" level. I found teams are generally supportive, good sports, and accepting of those new to the game.

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 23 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away more than $4 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. When you make a donation, every dollar is automatically doubled, and 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
