I did see the movie and have a couple of comments. I have enjoyed all the previous movies and although this one is excellent and for a true fan, is undoubtedly worth seeing, it does appear to have a tired and predictable feel to it, a little like the latest episode of a favorite soap opera.

For anyone who has not followed the series, this movie plot would be hard to follow (probably the same goes for the book too). But if you haven't read the book and are looking for this movie to update you on the goings on after the previous movie, I think you would find it hard to understand what was happening. Some of the new characters and new locations are never explained and also some of the things that are happening have no explanation.

I do think it is very well done in settings and acting. The effects are stunning and the broomstick ride around London should be longer. Trying to get such a long book into a movie has been hard and it certainly comes across that way. Yes a true fan would enjoy it. I did enjoy it, but I can't say I would be bothered to watch it again.

I see your points, dear Parent. The book was not at all difficult to follow, but I believe I filled in much in the movie from the book. I think I'd have been lost otherwise. In a way, I wish they'd make two movies (or have an intermission) instead of rushing through.
