City support for Boy Scouts
Palo Alto Issues, posted by Mac Clayton, a resident of the Community Center neighborhood, on Jul 18, 2012 at 1:37 pm

Given the Boy Scouts' recent reaffirmation of their policy to discriminate against gays, is city support for the organization through use of facilities at Lucie Stern appropriate?

The Boy Scouts represent tradional values, including patriotism, do a good turn daily, the one-woman/one-man marriage ideal; straight men with straight boys/young men. The Catholic Church has shown that homosexual priests and young men are not a good mix.

Rather than banning the Boy Scouts from their campfire circle at Lucie Stern, why not eliminate the human rights committee in Palo Alto?

The Boy Scouts are a discriminatory organization that is pushing the intolerance agenda. We do not need them doing business in Palo Alto.

No.

"Why should young men be forced to have homosexual youth leaders, given the extreme damage that has already been done?"

You mean, as in the Catholic Church, which is vehemently anti-gay?

Editor: great job editing the ridiculous “slippery slope” fear-mongering tactics.

There are some forms of employment that are correctly gender specific, as in bathhouse attendants or masseuse/masseur. If you want to form a Gay Scouts of America, go to it.

Separate but equal, eh Walter?
