Three Stanford baseball players sign pro contracts

The deadline for signing drafted players is still four weeks away, but the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals didn't have to wait long to sign two of their top picks from Stanford.

I'm surprised Smith signed. I believe one more year at Stanford would have made him a higher draft choice next year. Look how Garko moved up in the draft after staying for his senior year,
