George Bush was the self-described "CEO president," and Mitt Romeny wants the same mantle.
While one doesn't see much daylight between Bush and Romney's policies, it appears the Republican National Committee makes it clear. From an interview on Spanish radio, the Fernando Espuelas Show, Alexandra Franceschi, Specialty Media Press Secretary of the Republican National Committee, was asked:
"ESPUELAS: Now, how different is that concept from what were the policies of the Bush administration? And the reason I ask that is because there’s some analysis now that is being published talking about the Bush years being the slowest period of job creation since those statistics were created. Is this a different program or is this that program just updated?
FRANCESCHI: I think it’s that program, just updated."

I had money, a job, and rising house and retirement values under Bush Admin. Unemployment was 5%. I disagreed hugely with the increased spending by the RINOs of the first decade, but their business/economic policies were spot on, even after 9/11 and the near-miss Depression that brought( saved by solid leadership from that one).
Please, give us back the Bush years,...minus the spending ( which was "unpatriotically" 1/2 trillion per year deficit then, but 3X that now is "good")

If you had a house in December 2008 but have since lost it to foreclosure, sorry. Obama has been trying to get the GOP House to help you. The value of your home was already plummeting in January 2009.

It took Obama policies a couple quarters to reverse the tide of massive Bush monthly job losses. We have now had 23 consecutive months of private sector job growth, creating several million jobs. Not enough, we need the GOP House to actually do what they promised in 2010 - help create jobs.

Bush left Obama with the first trillion dollar deficit in history, and the worst economy in 80 years. Spending had to go up from Bush's trillion dollar deficit to spur recovery (see Bush job loss/Obama growth.)

Like George W. Bush Romney wants to use our overblown military to attack Iran - he's even said so. Sorry but I can't vote for any Presidential candidate who has stated that he wants to go to war.
History has taught us that war never solved anything and it certainly won't in this case. Nuclear weapons will continue to proliferate to more and more countries around the world, just eliminating them in one country won't solve anything.

Iraq cost the lives of 5,000 Americans. It cost taxpayers over a trillion dollars, far more than that when all the costs are added up, especially the cost of borrowing for a war while giving tax cuts.
The Iraq misadventure took the only natural counterweight to Iran off the table.
Iraq never attacked the US. There was no WMD.
Rodney - your statements were acceptable to most until you implied that the unprovoked attack and invasion was honorable.
The topic is Romney continuing Bush's disastrous policies, including the disaster of invasion and nation building.

Rodney: DDoe and No More War are not able to see big picture, or connect dots. They focus in on a slice of time, without seeing what led up to that slice, and what that slice did or did not result in. They distort the truth (for example calling it "Bush deficit" for FY 2009 in the link above...That was a great one at illustrating the complete inability to see, let alone understand, what happened in 2009. And, of course, the usual canard about the Clinton "surplus" and "No WMD in Iraq".....hahahaha)!!
It is useless to try to teach them, all we can do is defeat them by voting their Party out of power by a huge margin, and replacing them NOT with RINOs/Neocons ( the "Compassionate Conservate label fooled me....I didn't understand it meant "bigger government, spend more, to buy votes, like the Dems have been doing for years), but Constitutional Conservatives.

Calling Clinton's multiple budget surplus's a 'canard' in the face of undisputable historical fact means Perspective just can't handle the truth. It doesn't fit into his warped political view.

Here ya go, boys and girls, Romney flip flops again, this time sacrificing the nation's security to appease the homophobe wing of the far right fringe that is today's republican party. Romney carefully selects the best Bush man for the job, then fires him.
Wow, does this guy ever do anything right the first time? Or the second, for that matter?

Back to topic. Romney is the Bush Policies revisited - tax cuts for millionaires and cronies, no foreign policy experience or the intellectual curiosity to even visit overseas. Hiring the bush boys - Bolton, hiring then firing Grendell, etc.
Lest we forget how bad the Bush days were, Obama inherited an economy that was LOSING 800,000 jobs a month from Bush and his polices.
The overall picture:
When President Obama took office, there were 110,985,000 workers in the private sector, and the number was dropping fast thanks to the Bush economic crisis—more than 800,000 jobs had been lost in the previous month alone. Today, there are 111,020,000 workers in the private sector. Not near enough growth, but recall Bush was losing 800,000 a month. It took a more than a year to finally stop the Bush job losses, since February, 2010 we've added 4,247,000 private sector jobs.
Compare Obama's record of 35,000 private sector jobs created despite inheriting the worst economy since the great depression with George W. Bush's private sector jobs record - he took office with 111,631,000 private sector jobs. 8 years later, it was down by 646,000.
Under Obama:
* Private sector jobs: Up by 35,000
* Public sector jobs: Down 608,000
* Stock market: Up by 64%
And under Bush:
* Private sector jobs: Down by 646,000
* Public sector jobs: Up by 1.7 million
* Stock market: Down 24%
Who's the Capitalist now?
No more Bush failures, America can not afford to go back to the Bush disaster by having Romney repeat the Bush policies, with the same Bush cronies.

Of course, amazingly enough, all this is projected to "get better" in these unbiased news sources, starting in 2013, if we re-elect Obama.
I submit nothing improves until we get rid of him and all Democrat control, reverse the hugely damaging effects of the Community Reinvestment Act perverted by Dodd and Frank and still in place; overturn the centralization of banking power done in "financial reform" by Obama/Dems; tear down the EPA blocks on coal, oil, builders, pipelines; take down the attack dogs of NLRB on private businesses and their decisions; overturn Obamacare; get rid of the now yearly 800 billion in "stimulus" funds that do nothing; and reverse the relentlessly constant attacks and threats on "the rich", scaring away investors..to list a few things.

Well known, no need for citations; minorities hit the hardest by all economic downturns..and this one has been the longest and hardest since Carter's Admin.
The pity is that with sound business leadership, we would have long been roaring back to life by now. So much needless suffering.

As an aside;
Jkelton, Ddoe and Campbell: Good try to claim that I was desecrating the memory of soldiers who died in Iraq when I laughed at the assertion that there were no WMD in Iraq. The desecration comes from those who think they died in vain, "looking for" WMD that "wasn't there". The sheer ignorance of such statements makes me laugh, to keep me from crying.

Found one of the links I had lost. Very nice graphics of the last 12 years to put it all in perspective (one of my favorite words...:))
Surprising to me was that labor market participation rate had already begun its decline, though still true that it made a dramatic dive in the last few years to be the lowest since 1981.
