Still no story from the Palo Alto Weekly or Palo Alto Daily on the traumatic injuries suffered on a Palo Alto jobsite in December resulting in the death of a contract employee working as a City of Palo Alto Building Inspector. Even when notified of this incident, The Weekly and Daily tabloids ran no story due to ignorance, bias, or prejudice of government employees. The Weekly and Daily chose not to pursue or obtain additional information from the City of Palo Alto regarding this tragic event leaving one to question the journalistic integrity of these print media swill merchants.

I heard that a building inspector died in a fall while inspecting a new house being built on Waverley Street, near Lowell. I never saw an article in the newspaper about it. The house is still under construction. The house looks like a Taco Bell. Talk about bad fung shui. Yikes.

The print media tabloids in Palo Alto were notified by a concerned citizen of the tragic event involving a contract employee working as a City of Palo Alto Building Inspector shortly after the incident occured. What is even more disgusting about this event is that the City of Palo Alto Information Officer, City Manager, Human Resource Director, Building Official, or any city official having information of this tragedy failed to acknowledge or notify the public or convey their condolences regarding this tragic accident.

Oh yeah, the house under construction on Waverley/Lowell had another work related accident last December, only thing I know is that a City Inspector fell through an elevator shaft, almost landed on top of a latino worker laboring in the bottom of the shaft; I did not know that the Inspector did not make it though. It beats me how this type of accident was let to happen, I am a civil engineer and know that you have more chances of falling into an elevator shaft if you are an elevator technician, other than that, at all times there should be a barrier around and open elevator shaft, with warning signs all around.

Somebody said that it looks like a Taco Bell house; well the new chinese owners wanted to blend in with the new houses on the same block, but, why build a 5 ft wall next to the sidewalk?

With all these on the job accidents going on, I wonder how good the enforcement of safety regulations are in the City ongoing construction sites. Are the contractors cutting corners to make the most profit by steering their mostly undocumented workers to hurry up and disregard any concern for safety? Or as many have indicated in the past that the Developers are the ones running the City of Palo Alto.
