SLAC beam used to develop new melanoma drug

A melanoma drug approved last week by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration was developed with the help of an X-ray light source at the SLAC National Laboratory, as well as two other federally funded national labs.

This is great to hear and is of course the kind of news that should be broadcast nationally so that the hard-core, no-tax, no-spending ideologues out there get some idea what's going on in the real world.
