Once Upon A Mattress, An Outstanding Production!

Original post made by Sally, Leland Manor/Garland Drive, on Aug 4, 2011

My grand daughter and I attended opening night of Children's Theater production of the Tony Award winning musical. Without a doubt, it is the most outstanding performance, I have ever attended over the past forty years, I was surprised to see that it was not sold out! True, it was intended for the slightly older audience than most of the productions, but at 74, I laughed myself silly! It was hilarious and masterfully performed by teenage talented young performers whose voices were fabulous and perfectly cast. It illustrated the full spectrum and value of our Children's Theater. It deserves to be sold out every night.whether your thirteen, nineteen, seventy -four, or more. It's fabulous and we need to support these young people and our wonderful theater.

I just want to add that my ten year old grand daughter loved it and was laughing as hard as I was. The other young elementary children near us were singing and dancing in the isles. Everything slightly adult was so subtle, it went over their heads.
