I arrived in Orlando tonight, and I am quickly reminded why I like the dry heat of California. Aside from the humidity in the air, there is also a buzz because it is immediately apparent a launch is on everyone's minds.  Billboards, radio commentary, and just conversations within earshot mention the shuttle. Even my flight out had family of one of the shuttle crew onboard. The electricity is all around, and it's infectious. 

The weather is the very next topic. Despite the potential for scrub and delay, there is optimism. My optimistic nature will surely be tested over the next day and a half.  

Tomorrow I get up early again to go pick up my media badge. There are several events throughout the day I plan to attend.  I won't actually get to see the astronauts as they have been in medical quarantine since last week, but other photo ops are available.
