Public meeting on math and student stress in PAUSD on Tuesday

Stanford Professor of Secondary Mathematics Education Jo Boaler will discuss aspects of math instruction at Paly and Gunn that may be unnecessarily stressful. Professor Boaler will also discuss the latest research on mathematics and social emotional learning. Other speakers will discuss the upcoming School Board retreat and the formulation of 2011-12 focused goals for homework reduction, counseling improvement, and fully implementing the Project Safety Net plan in response to the student suicides. There will be a discussion following the speakers.
We Can Do Better Palo Alto is a group of parents, current and former students, and community members advocating for schools where kids can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
