Loud Boom last night
Around Town, posted by Neighbor, a resident of the Palo Verde neighborhood, on Jun 14, 2007 at 9:47 am

At just after 10.30 last night (Wed) there was a flash of light followed by a very loud boom, enough to wake and scare my kids. We thought it may have been a transformer blowing, but as far as I could see from my windows, no power was lost in my neighborhood. We live at the south end of Stockton off Loma Verde. Does anyone know what caused this?

It might have been a very large firecracker (M-80)......I think it went off at the Colorado Apartments......set off a car alarm there.

Police dispatch said they received several calls about this last night but police couldn't find anything. It may have been a large firecracker.

The dog & I were on the fields at Cubberly when the first BOOM was heard, that was a bit after 8 and came from the vivinity of San Antonio. Definetly an M-80 firecracker.

We live on Loma Verde; We were startled by this major "flash" next to our bedroom window, followed by the fire cracker sound and a police siren. It literally seemed like the cracker had burst in our back yard (I suspect this was more of a visual, since we didn't' find any debris in the yard this morning)
