Posted by joe sparaco, a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, on Jun 11, 2007 at 5:24 pm Our event featured children, who with their parents, built their own race cars from kits purchased from Akron Ohio, as well as two special cars build to carry two kids by members of Mountain View, Santa Clara, San Jose police officers and fire fighters referred to as Super Kids Cars.
The kids must be involved in building the cars, and have to be between 8 and 17 years of age to qualify. The children learn sportsmanship, citizenship, basic building skills and share quality time with their Mom's and Dad's during the most impressionable time in their lives.
Several of our spectators on Sunday asked how they can get involved next year and if we would be holding the races in Mountain View again.
We will race every year from here out as long as there is interest, and we urge you all to learn more about this sport by clicking onto our web-site www.svsbd.com
