Palo Alto Pride

Original post made by Elizabeth, Midtown, on Feb 7, 2011

It is clear that, while we may often disagree with our city council and employees on many topics, we all have a particular pride in our town and the general quality of life we experience here in Palo Alto. So when I see something that is obviously a drawing card for tourists presented so poorly, I have to wonder if the entire city representation is asleep at the wheel.

Stanford Shopping Center has been an attraction for people who come to our fair city from other parts for many decades, so I have to wonder why it is that one of the worst roads in Palo Alto, with ruts and pot holes that may be older than I am (and I'm no spring chicken!), is that section of El Camino Real directly in front of the shopping center from San Franciscito Creek down to University (including the exit to turn left onto University Ave).

I drive this road fairly often and am continally appalled at the shape it is in.

Can someone pry a bit of cash out of the Public Works budget to actually get some work done?
