AT&T fixes iphone problem in San Francisco, would Palo Alto NIMBYs kill this fix here?

AT&T is deploying wide-area WiFi hotspots around downtown San Francisco and Fisherman's Wharf to give iphone users data connectivity where the 3G cell signal sucks. No complaints so far about the WiFi radiation. What would happen if they tried this in Palo Alto?
