I live about a 1/2 mile from Paly, and today, Friday, I heard loud noises that sounded like fireworks going on from about 9 PM. Does anyone know whats going on?

Stanford Baseball had their end of season fireworks. Happens every year. It's a great show, I'd say even better than their 4th, er, 3rd of July show.

actually, what you may have heard was the sound of dick cheney and his freinds.
They were passing through the area, and they like to shoot off a few rounds as they pass through each town. Every now and then some unlucky soul catches a bullet, but usually it's all good fun. They migrated through around 8:45, on their way to Hollister, shortly before the event at the Sunken Diamond, which also makes some noise.

I don't have a problem with Hollister. I have been to that "little drinking hole", it is call Johnnies Bar. Made famous from the Wild Ones movie. Just couldn't figure why Hollister in the above post.

Just wanted to make sure you were one of them

Have a good evening!
