Silicon Valley Red Cross Update

Your local Red Cross Chapter serves all of Santa Clara County.

This is what the Silicon Vally Chapter did from August 1st through August 31st:

80 community classes trained 736 students in our offices.

60 classes held by our Authorized Providers trained 505 students.

20 workplace classes trained 250 students.

Responded to 12 local disasters helping 20 families with $9,908.17 in assistance.

23 Services for Armed Forces cases had activity.

73,000 lbs of comfort packages were shipped through Operation Care and Comfort to troops overseas which brings the total shipped to approximately 675,000 lbs. Items shipped in August included 130,000 pairs of shower shoes.

600 backpacks filled with school supplies were received from the Family Giving Tree and have been distributed to military familes.

5 Community Disaster Education (CDE) presentations were conducted, including Cisco and The Sobrato Center for Non-Profits.

Participated in 3 community/corporate Health Fairs.
